Meet Tom!

Tell us a bit about yourself and your role at Latrobe Lifeskills and how long you’ve been here.

Hi everyone, I’m Tom, and I’ve been with Latrobe Lifeskills for just over a year now. I am passionate about creating safe, inclusive and fun spaces for all people with a focus on Gardening and Music at Lifeskills.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Any hobbies?

Outside of work, my days are filled with more gardening, films, music, travel, exercise and food. I am also a head coach and mentor with an inclusive basketball program in Melbourne’s inner north.

What do you think makes Lifeskills unique in the way it supports participants?

Lifeskills offers an exciting and interesting variety of activities, which allows participants to decide how their days will look by selecting activities that align with both their interests and goals. The staff at Lifeskills are excellent at delivering engaging sessions and supporting social connections between participants.

Can you share a memorable moment or success story from your time here (keeping privacy in mind)?

There have been a number of them, but memorable moments happen pretty much every week during the Garage Band activity – I am always impressed by the participant’s creativity, musical sensibility, and shared enjoyment.
