Taking in the history of Macleod, Mont Park and Bundoora with the Bundoora Travel Training group

Recently, the Bundoora Travel Training group stayed local, engaging in a Historic Walk of the district, covering Macleod, Mont Park and Bundoora.

The walk follows the path of the old train branch line that serviced the Mont Park Hospital from 1911 to 1964, starting at Macleod station through Harry Pottage Reserve and Cherry St Grassland Reserve. Participants were encouraged to find signs and remnants of the past line and guided on the walk by following the historically significant points. You had to have a keen eye to find the remnants of the past but many were spotted!

On returning to campus we spent the afternoon continuing to walk past the significant historical sites on the lookout for The Land Management Goats, thankfully with the help of Ranger Chris we found these much to everyone’s excitement!
