Annual Careers Expo At Bendigo 2016 – August 2, 2016

Lifeskills attended at the second annual Careers Expo for students with Disabilities in Bendigo. The event was organised by the Central Victorian Pathways Network for Students with a Disability in conjunction with Kalianna School Bendigo.

The venue, located within the Ulumbarra Theatre, is a former prison, but has been transformed into an iconic community theatre and education complex. “Ulumbarra” means to gather together or meeting place in the language of the Dja Dja Wurrung people so it was an apt venue to gather people together and celebrate culture and diversity whilst acknowledging those that came before us. Lifeskills welcomed enthusiastic crowds from the Bendigo Senior Secondary, Catholic College, Kalianna and Bendigo SDS, as well as the four other Year 7 – 10 schools. We saw a lot of familiar faces, particularly of interested Participants and families who have previously visited the Latrobe Lifeskills Bendigo campus for trial/taster programs.

Many thanks to the organisers for such a successful Careers Expo. We look forward to presenting there again next year.
