Over the past year, our partnership with Ivanhoe Grammar for the Year 9 Out of Class Community Program has continued to flourish. This unique initiative aims to provide year nine students with a comprehensive understanding of the NDIS, Latrobe Lifeskills, disability organisations and the diverse employment opportunities within the disability sector, opening their eyes to career paths they might not have previously considered. Furthermore, it fosters genuine connections between the students and participants, promoting a more inclusive community that values diversity.
In 2023, the program once again proved to be a resounding success. The students and participants came together, discovering shared interests and commonalities that forged meaningful bonds during their time together. In the month of August, we were delighted to welcome the second group of Ivanhoe Grammar students to Bundoora for the culminating program of the year.
This year has been a testament to the power of collaboration and the positive impact it can have on creating a more inclusive and compassionate society.
