Since 1998, Lifeskills has been dedicated to enhancing the lives of participants by offering a wide range of engaging and enriching group activities. These activities go beyond the ordinary, providing opportunities for personal growth, social interaction, and skill development. In recent times, we have expanded our timetable to cater to even more diverse interests and needs. In this blog post, we’ll take a closer look at the fantastic group activities on offer.

As the only disability organisation based at a university in Australia, Latrobe Lifeskills offers participants the opportunity to be a part of the broader La Trobe University community, where they can build independence, create social connection and pursue their interests in an integrated environment.

Below we put a spotlight on some of our most-requested activities to how how there’s more than meets the eye when it comes to group activities.

Sport

Exercise is essential for maintaining physical health and well-being. Lifeskills offers inclusive sports programs that allow participants to enjoy physical activity while promoting teamwork and coordination. Whether it’s adapted basketball, soccer, or a variety of other sports, everyone can find a fun and engaging way to stay active and healthy.

Travel Training

Travel training offers numerous benefits for participants. It promotes independence by teaching Participants essential skills like planning routes, using public transportation, and budgeting for trips. This newfound self-reliance enhances confidence and social inclusion, as Participants can explore new places and interact with their community more freely.

Zumba and Yoga

For those who prefer a more holistic approach to fitness, Latrobe Lifeskills offers Zumba and yoga classes. These sessions are designed to improve flexibility, balance, and overall well-being. Zumba, provides an enjoyable cardio workout while Yoga focuses on relaxation, mindfulness, and gentle physical movements, making it accessible to participants of all abilities.

Art and Creativity

Latrobe Lifeskills believes that everyone should have the chance to explore their creativity. The Expanded Timetables

At Lifeskills Bundoora, we offer over 50 different group activities from Monday – Friday.
