Lifeskills Mini-Fest

This year, we were thrilled to finally celebrate the 25th birthday of Latrobe Lifeskills with a bang at the Lifeskills Mini-Fest in both Bendigo and Bundoora! What made it even more special? The festivities coincided with the International Day of People with Disability!

In Bendigo, the Mini-Fest unfolded as a week-long adventure extravaganza! The participants embarked on a journey exploring Mount Macedon, Kyabram Fauna Park, Daylesford and the iconic Sovereign Hill over four unforgettable days. It was a chance for them to break free from their routine and discover the diverse wonders of Victoria.

Meanwhile, Bundoora played host to a lively gathering filled with laughter, games, crafts, and special moments. The highlight? An incredible debut public performance by the Lifeskills singing group, The Revolutions!

The day in Bundoora was brimming with giant games in the Sports Centre, T-shirt decorating, and the company of some very special guests – none other than members of the Victoria Police (of the Latrobe Lifeskills x Whittlesea Police Academy collaboration)! To top it all off, everyone enjoyed a pizza lunch, adding the perfect flavor to the festivities.

Here’s to 25 amazing years of Latrobe Lifeskills, and many more to come! Thank you to the participants for being a part of the incredible journey celebrating abilities, adventures, and the power of community.
